written and performed by me, as The Busker in "The Bottom Line", a satirical play by Susannah Finzi which deals with what happens if you take "austerity" to its logical conclusion. The song pretty well sums it all up.

A bunch of people thought they’d have a go
At making loads of money fast and easy.
Oh yeah!
Easy peazy was the song they sang
Trading other people’s debts
With joyful abandon
Riding high with no regrets above
The Bottom Line.

If it goes wrong the banks'll take the hit.
Our future’s bright and breezy, when we’re

And though it wasn’t a crime - as such
There is only ever so much
Money in the world to be found

Or wealth-creating bobs and bits
Above the ground or down in the pits
The only ones who’ll be in the shit
Will be those losers below
The Bottom Line.
